Inter midfielder Lucien Agoume will remain on loan at Spezia until the end of the season, the newly-promoted club’s sporting director has confirmed tonight.
Agoume had a slow start to life in Liguria but has slowly earned the trust of head coach Vincenzo Italiano, starting each of the Aquilotti’s last three games in Serie A, to the delight of his agent Djibril Niang.
The French youngster played all 90 minutes on Monday as Spezia recorded their first ever home victory in Italy’s top flight against Sampdoria.
Sporting director Mauro Meluso confirmed to Sportitalia this evening that the 18-year-old will not be returning to Inter in January, despite rumours to the contrary.
Fiorentina were mooted by a report in Italy’s media yesterday to be monitoring Agoume ahead of a summer move, having been impressed with his recent displays.
Inter are thought to have no intention of parting company with the promising teenager, though, having signed Agoume from FC Sochaux in 2019.
