Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado are facing a race against time to be available for Juventus for this weekend’s Derby d’Italia against Inter, according to an Italian media report today.

Alex Sandro came down with COVID-19 on January 4 while Cuadrado tested positive the following day, and it is now necessary to wait and see the outcome of their next tests, which will take place in the coming hours.

In order to be available for Andrea Pirlo against the Nerazzurri, at least off the bench, the pair will also have to take additional tests as stipulated by the FIGC’s protocol, and it is for this reason that it is a race against time for them.

Paulo Dybala and Matthijs de Ligt are both out for the match but Pirlo will be able to count upon both Weston McKennie and Federico Chiesa again.

Injury was ruled out for McKennie in tests and he has spent the past few days overcoming the discomfort he felt, while the swelling on Chiesa’s ankle is slowly but surely going down.
