Inter loanee Lucien Agoume has played down comparisons between himself and fellow Frenchman Paul Pogba.
The 18-year-old is midway through a season-long loan at newly-promoted Spezia, where he has finally nailed down a place in Vincenzo Italiano’s starting XI after a slow start in Liguria.
In an interview Genova-based newspaper Il Secolo XIX, Agoume was asked whether he saw parts of his game in the Manchester United midfielder but opted for a modest response.
“People have always made this comparison between me and him ever since I started playing football,” the midfielder recalled.
“I follow Pogba, he’s an important player, I like him, but he and I are different.”
Agoume has started each of Spezia’s last three games in Serie A, playing the full 90 minutes in Monday’s impressive 2-1 win at home to Sampdoria.
He has made seven appearances to date this season but has not made any goal contributions.
Earlier this week, Agoume was reported to have attracted interest from Fiorentina, who are monitoring the youngster ahead of a possible summer move.
Inter are thought to have no intention of parting company with Agoume, though.
