Nicolo Barella’s impressive performances for Inter have earned him interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, according to an Italian media report today.

Barella starred in Sunday’s 2-0 Derby d’Italia victory over Juventus at San Siro, crossing for Arturo Vidal to score the opening goal before adding the Nerazzurri’s second shortly after half-time.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, Barcelona tried to sign the Cagliari star last summer, Real Madrid came forward after his performances against Los Blancos in the UEFA Champions League in November, while Bayern Munich have also expressed an interest in signing him.

Given Inter’s current economic difficulties, the report explained, it is not possible to predict how much strength the club will have when it comes to being able to deter the interest in Barella’s services.

This season the 23-year-old, who is under contract with the club until the end of the 2023-24 season, has made 25 appearances across all competitions to date.

He has scored two goals and provided a total of eight assists for his teammates.
