BC Partners may not work alone if they buy into Inter, at least according to an Italian media report today.
The private equity fund are in talks with the Nerazzurri’s owners Suning over the acquisition of a stake in the club, although whether that is a minority or majority stake remains to be seen.
Corriere della Sera’s print edition said the British-based investment fund are conducting their due diligence of the accounts of Inter, who they are said to value at €750 million.
Inter’s current minority shareholders LionRock Capital (31.05%) are prepared to leave when necessary and the paper reported that BC Partners could collaborate with American fund Ares – previously thought to be a rival to BC Partners for shares – to some extent, rather than go it alone.
BC Partners have been carrying out due diligence for just over a week but the whole process is believed to still be a few weeks away from completion.
Once the process is completed, it will then be seen if BC Partners will make an offer and on what basis.
