Alexis Sanchez will undergo tests today with Inter’s medical staff to assess a potential thigh injury, according to an Italian newspaper report.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport, the Chilean forward finished Sunday’s Derby d’Italia win over Juventus in pain, with the pain understood to have been felt in his adductor muscle.

The report explains that while alarm bells are ringing again at the club, Inter coach Antonio Conte has his fingers crossed that it is nothing serious for Sanchez.

Sanchez has struggled with a few injuries this season, including a previous problem with his adductor muscles but has still been able to make 17 appearances, including nine starts so far this season.

The former Manchester United player, who joined Inter on a permanent basis in the summer following a season-long loan spell, has scored two goals and also provided a total of four assists for his teammates when out on the pitch.

He played the final five minutes of last weekend’s win over the Bianconeri, replacing Lautaro Martinez as a substitute.
