Alexis Sanchez remains hopeful of being available for Inter’s match away to Udinese on Saturday, according to an Italian media report today.
As per Corriere dello Sport, both the forward and head coach Antonio Conte were able to breathe a sigh of relief on Tuesday as it was confirmed Sanchez had nothing more than a small bit of muscular fatigue following Sunday’s Derby d’Italia win over Juventus.
There was concern that the Chilean international, who has had a few injuries already this season, may have picked up a more serious problem, but the player apparently did not need to undergo tests – contrary to reports yesterday – and trained with his teammates as normal ahead of this weekend’s game against his former club.
In any case, the Rome-based publication said Sanchez would probably need to be cautious over the next 48 hours as he continues to shake off the issue.
Sanchez, 32, has made 17 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season.
During his time on the pitch, the former Manchester United striker has scored two goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
