Inter could look to set up a loan swap with Arsenal that would see Christian Eriksen and Lucas Torreira exchanged, according to an Italian newspaper report today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, Torreira, who has endured a poor loan spell at Atletico Madrid this season with little playing time, wishes to be a key player for someone again and he could do exactly that with Inter who are seeking a deputy to Marcelo Brozovic.

In order to be able to sign Torreira from the Gunners, Eriksen will have to leave first, but it is said that Inter and Arsenal could do a loan swap involving the Dane and Uruguayan.

It is very difficult to imagine Inter signing anyone on a permanent deal during this transfer window and the report claims that this is why Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul will almost certainly arrive at Inter during the summer and not in January.

The report said Eriksen could even complete a sensational return to Tottenham Hotspur, just a year on from leaving them for Inter.
