A swap deal involving Christian Eriksen and Papu Gomez could be a last-minute idea for Inter to explore in this month’s transfer window, according to an Italian media report today.
As per TuttoMercatoWeb, the Nerazzurri could offer Eriksen in exchange for Atalanta forward Gomez, who, like Eriksen, is expected to leave his club before the end of the month.
Inter are far from alone in having an interest in signing the 32-year-old Argentine, with competition reportedly coming from the likes of Fiorentina, AC Milan and Roma.
As things currently stand, none of the Serie A clubs interested in the former Catania player have an advantage over the other.
The same source reported earlier on today that MLS franchise FC Cincinnati were also keen on signing Gomez and have even made an offer worth €7 million to Atalanta, along with a three-year deal for the player.
This season Gomez, who is under contract with Atalanta until the end of next season, has made 16 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored five goals and tallied four assists.
