Inter will finalise a contract extension for Alessandro Bastoni once the Nerazzurri’s off-field issues are cleared up, according to a report in Italy tonight.
Bastoni’s agent Tulio Tinti told Rai Sport on Tuesday that contract talks were on hold due to the financial difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but added that they were in no hurry to agree a deal.
FcInterNews.it have confirmed the parties have ‘total confidence’ in one another that they will finalise the defender’s renewal once owners Suning have given the green light for further investments.
Bastoni’s salary will increase from €1.2 million annually plus add-ons to around €2.5 million, with a variety of simple and complex add-ons which could take his wages as high as €3.5 million after tax.
The 21-year-old is eager to commit his future to the club long-term but is not worried about the delay in proceedings, with Inter having made it clear that they wish to make him a key player for the coming seasons.
Bastoni’s wages will take a similar format to Nicolo Barella’s salary, which is also full of numerous add-ons related to appearances and winning trophies.
