A loan swap between Inter and Arsenal involving Christian Eriksen and Lucas Torreira remains a possibility in January, according to an Italian media report today.
As per Tuttosport’s print edition, Inter have identified Torreira as a transfer target as they search for a deputy to Marcelo Brozovic in midfield.
Torreira is on a season-long loan at Atletico Madrid but he is struggling for game time in La Liga and could be recalled by Arsenal and sent elsewhere for the remainder of the campaign.
The report from the Turin-based newspaper adds that Valencia, Fiorentina and Lazio are all interested in signing the Uruguayan international, who has already been linked with moves to Inter in previous years.
During his loan stint with Atletico, the former Sampdoria player has made 13 appearances in all competitions, in which he has scored one goal and provided one assist.
Tuttosport suggested that a move to Inter could be the right way for Torreira to revive his season after a disappointing spell under Cholo Simeone in Madrid.
