Arsenal have an advantage over their Premier League rivals Tottenham in the race to sign Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen, a report in Italy explained today.
As per Il Giorno’s print edition on Thursday, both north London clubs are interested in a deal for the out-of-favour Danish international who is expected to leave the Nerazzurri before the end of January.
Eriksen spent more than six years playing for Spurs before moving to Inter in a €20 million deal last January, but Arsenal is potentially the easier option for Inter in terms of getting a deal done.
This is because the Gunners could offer Lucas Torreira to the Nerazzurri as part of a loan swap, with the Uruguayan having struggled for game time on loan at Atletico Madrid during the first half of the season.
Eriksen, who has also been linked to Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side this season.
The 28-year-old has failed to make any goal contributions thus far.
