Christian Eriksen has interest from Premier League clubs but all his suitors want Inter to contribute to paying his wages, according to an Italian journalist today.

Eriksen has been linked with loan moves to a few clubs, most recently Leicester City, who are understood to have abandoned talks when they learned the midfielder earns £300,000 a week, which is several times more than the Foxes’ current highest earners.

Speaking in an interview with Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it, La Repubblica journalist Franco Vanni has explained the current situation as far as Eriksen leaving Inter in January is concerned.

“There have been expressions of interest from the Premier League, but always with formulas that Inter have felt they had to refuse because they are loans in which they must contribute to the payment of the salary,” he explained.

“For now, Inter are holding firm and if Eriksen leaves, he will only leave at the end of the market.”

Vanni proceeded to discuss Eriksen’s failure to impose himself at Inter and shared his belief that Eriksen may never be capable of playing successfully for Conte.

“He is a player who in Conte’s system has struggled to find a place.

“The problem is that Conte does not see him as a midfielder, he does not see him as a no. 10, and now he is trying him in front of the defence and he has proven to be more adaptable than his detractors think.

“Unfortunately, though, it seems Eriksen will never be able to adapt to Conte’s style of play.

“Inter, between the two of them, rightly and obviously chooses the coach because he is the one who has shown he can win.”

This season Eriksen has made 14 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has failed to score or assist any goals.
