Inter held preliminary talks with Leicester City over a potential loan deal for Christian Eriksen, a leading UK broadcaster has confirmed today.

A report in The Telegraph on Thursday said the Foxes had expressed an interest in signing the Danish midfielder, who has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte.

Sky Sports News have confirmed their version of events, however, or rather that Leicester walked away from talks upon learning that Eriksen earns £300,000 a week.

Eriksen’s wages are thought to be three times as much as Leicester City’s current highest earning players and club bosses are unwilling to sanction a deal.

Leicester City are just one of a number of Premier League clubs linked with a deal for the 28-year-old, who has struggled to impose himself at Inter since joining from Tottenham Hotspur last January.

Other reports in the media have linked Eriksen with Arsenal, Manchester United and even a potential return to Spurs, where he spent six and a half years under Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.

This season Eriksen has 14 appearances across all competitions but he has been unable to make any goal contributions for Inter.
