Roma have made an offer for Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen and would be willing to send striker Edin Dzeko to the Nerazzurri in exchange.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the capital club are looking to offload their captain after a bitter dispute with coach Paulo Fonseca in the aftermath of their Coppa Italia elimination to Spezia in midweek.

Dzeko did not feature in Roma’s Serie A victory over the same opponents yesterday, officially due to injury, but it is believed that the Bosnia international’s future at the Stadio Olimpico is in doubt.

With Juventus not looking to strengthen in attack and AC Milan bringing in forward Mario Mandzukic this month, Roma have identified Inter as a potential suitor for Dzeko and have explored the possibility of an exchange for out-of-favour midfielder Eriksen.

Coach Antonio Conte has long been an admirer of Dzeko but Inter are currently unwilling to enter discussions over a trade between the two players and are determined to sell for a fee if they are to part with Eriksen.
