Suning Block Inter Move For Roma Striker Edin Dzeko, Italian Media Report

Inter owners Suning have rejected the opportunity to bring Roma striker Edin Dzeko to the club amidst increasing financial concerns.

Bosnia international Dzeko is believed to be considering his future at the Stadio Olimpico after a bitter dispute with coach Paulo Fonseca, and did not feature in the Giallorossi’s 4-3 victory over Spezia in Serie A yesterday.

Whilst an exchange that would see Christian Eriksen move to Roma in exchange for Dzeko had been proposed, Italian television channel SportMediaset suggested today that Suning were not interested in a deal.

As they look to cut costs, Suning see no financial advantage in the exchange, particularly as Dzeko and Eriksen currently earn similar wages, and instead are looking to solely offload Eriksen.

The Danish midfielder has struggled to make an impact since joining from Tottenham Hotspur last January and Inter are keen to sell, or at the very least send him out on loan to a club willing to cover his wages.
