Inter’s strike partnership of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have failed to score a goal in each of Inter’s last four Serie A matches, an Italian media report has highlighted today.
As per Corriere della Sera’s print edition, the duo have been inaccurate in front of goal in recent matches, especially Lautaro.
Inter failed to score at all for the first time this season in Serie A against Udinese at the weekend, in a match where Lukaku failed to even register a shot.
Lukaku and Lautaro have combined for 21 league goals this season and their recent slump is understandably rather alarming.
Tomorrow’s Coppa Italia quarter-final clash with AC Milan could be the perfect match for Lukaku and Lautaro to get their names back on the score-sheet.
Winning could be important for Inter and have repercussions for AC Milan, who are currently leading the way in Serie A.
Provided they beat SPAL, Juventus would be Inter’s opponents in the semifinals.
