There could be a new beginning for Christian Eriksen at Inter after his match-winning goal against AC Milan last night, according to an Italian media report today.

The Denmark international came on close to the 90th minute and stepped up deep into injury time to score a trademark free-kick to give the Nerazzurri a 2-1 win in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport, this goal could project Eriksen into a new dimension and mark a new beginning for him at Inter, where, up until now, things have not gone to plan and he has largely disappointed with his performances.

Eriksen has been strongly linked with a departure this transfer window but nothing other than loan offers have arrived.

Inter have no interest in loaning him out though due to their need for liquidity, something they would only get from a sale.

Antonio Conte is also now trying him out in the role of regista, and appears to be having some success with Eriksen in that role.

This season Eriksen has scored one goal in 15 appearances in all competitions but no assists.
