Christian Eriksen enjoyed a rare morning of unanimous praise from Italy’s media after scoring a late winner in Inter’s Coppa Italia victory against AC Milan.

The Danish national team player came off the substitutes bench in the 88th minute to replace Marcelo Brozovic and went on to score the free-kick that sent Antonio Conte’s side through to the semi-finals in stoppage time.

TuttoMercatoWeb gave Eriksen the highest rating of all Italian media outlets, rewarding the 28-year-old with a rating of 8/10 and suggesting it was his ‘destiny’ to score the winner over the Rossoneri.

Tuttosport compared the former Tottenham midfielder’s free-kick to a sparkler, while Corriere della Sera hailed Eriksen’s goal as ‘a moment of pure class’.

Gazzetta dello Sport gave him a rating of 7.5/10, asking whether Eriksen would return to his former Spurs glory days after Tuesday’s triumph, while Corriere dello Sport, La Repubblica and and the two above-mentioned papers all gave him a rating of 7/10.

This season Eriksen has made 15 appearances across all competitions for Inter, with last night’s heroics delivering his first goal of the campaign.
