Inter striker Romelu Lukaku confirmed he is one of Europe’s best penalty takers with his conversion against AC Milan last night, as highlighted by a stat from Opta.

Since the 2019-20 season began, the Belgian international has taken 12 penalties and scored all 12 of them, with Tuesday’s effort helping them come from behind to secure a 2-1 win over their city rivals in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.

Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Real Sociedad’s Mikel Oyarzabal are the only other players in Europe’s so-called top five leagues to have taken at least 12 penalties and converted every one.

Antonio Conte’s side will meet either Juventus or SPAL in a two-legged semi-final, with the first leg taking place next week.
