Inter’s dreams of signing Lionel Messi from Barcelona could soon be dashed, if a report in the Spanish media on Thursday is anything to go by.

As per TodoFichajes.com, Messi will leave Barcelona when his contract expires at the end of this season and negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain are going well.

PSG are said to be confident about their chances of signing the Argentine, who came close to leaving Barca last summer before agreeing to see out the final year of his contract.

Messi will be able to once again play alongside Neymar but he will not get to play with Kylian Mbappe, who, as per this reportm, is bound to move to Real Madrid.

Although Barcelona hope to convince Messi to stay with the Blaugrana, his decision has been made for months and it is not one he is prepared to change.

The report goes on to claim that even though the deal is not over the line, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaïfi and sporting director Leonardo are already celebrating what could be one of the most profitable deals both in sports and marketing in the last decade.

Messi has also been linked with potential moves to both Inter and Manchester City in recent months, with former Nerazzurri midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron suggesting recently that vice-president Javier Zanetti might be capable of persuading Messi to come to Italy.

It would appear the 33-year-old’s next destination is France, however.
