Inter ought to be encouraged by the display of midfielder Christian Eriksen in their 4-0 win over Benevento yesterday, according to Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani.

The Denmark international starred as the Nerazzurri sealed a comprehensive victory in Serie A at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as his freekick led to the opener, via an own goal, before later hitting the crossbar from range.

Victory was sealed in the second half through Lautaro Martinez and a Romelu Lukaku brace, as Inter continued their push for the Scudetto.

After struggling to make an impact since arriving from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur last January, Eriksen impressed in a deeper role in midfield, just days after hitting a last minute winner against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia Quarter-Final.

Telelombardia journalist Ravezzani took to Twitter to express his pleasure at Eriksen’s performance, whilst also suggesting that Lukaku was still feeling the effects of a bitter argument with Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the win over Milan on Tuesday.

“Inter win easily and confirm that January is no longer cursed. Eriksen impressed (though it needs to be seen against a stronger opponent). Lukaku seems sad, as if he is not over the controversy of the Derby,” Ravezzani posted.
