Inter striker Lautaro Martinez still has huge room for improvement, according to former Nerazzurri midfielder and fellow countryman Juan Sebastian Veron.

Lautaro is into his third season at Inter and has made notable improvement in his time with the club, having scored 11 goals in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side this season.

But Veron, who made 74 appearances for Inter, thinks that El Toro, who today became a father for the first time, can still get better yet.

“Lautaro has incredible room for improvement,” former Argentine international Veron, who was with Inter between 2004 and 2006, told Stats Perform News, as quoted by Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

“He is a technical player who has an eye for goal and does an important job for the team even in the defensive phase.

“You can always improve, and I think he is the first to know that.”

Lautaro had gone several games without a goal but got himself back on the scoresheet during Saturday’s 4-0 win over Benevento, taking himself into double figures in the league.

The 23-year-old, who is contracted to Inter until 2023, has made 28 appearances across all competitions and is expected to start again in tomorrow’s Coppa Italia semi-final at home to Juventus.
