Lautaro Martinez will sign a contract renewal with Inter this month, according to an Italian newspaper report today.
As per Tuttosport’s print edition, El Toro’s agents Beto Yaque and Rolando Zarate will return to Milan in the coming weeks to finalise the agreement reached with chief executive Beppe Marotta and sporting directors Piero Ausilio and Dario Bacin in their three recent meetings.
The report goes on to explain that Inter will extend the contract of the 23-year-old from 2023 to 2024 and will give Lautaro a salary raise which will see him earn €5 million a year, plus add-ons.
The Argentine national team forward got himself back among the goals at the weekend as he scored Inter’s second in their 4-0 rout of Benevento.
Lautaro had gone several weeks without a goal but with Saturday’s strike, he took his tally for the season to 11 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions, in which he has also notched six assists.
The Turin-based paper said he would be hoping to succeed where his fellow Argentine Mauro Icardi had failed by winning a trophy with Inter.
