Inter’s owners Suning could begin talks with two new potential investors soon, if a report in the Italian media today is anything to go by.

BC Partners appear to be out of the running to buy into the Nerazzurri after their exclusive talks with Suning ended last Friday without a deal.

As per Il Giorno, the British firm’s co-chief Nikos Stathopoulos will submit an offer for Inter in the coming days anyway but the chances of an agreement are ‘very slim’, not least because the parties are no longer on great terms.

Swedish-based fund EQT and US group Ares Management Corporation, however, have made ‘important steps’ towards Suning and could now be in the lead to join the club in some capacity.

Inter’s ownership saga was picked up by international news agency Reuters on Tuesday, with a report claiming Suning and BC Partners were still €250 million apart on their valuations for the club.

Suning are now thought to be considering a hybrid financing option, involving equity and debt, to help ease Inter’s economic difficulties, as reported by Il Sole 24 Ore.
