Former Inter striker Christian Vieri believes the Nerazzurri are still second best behind Juventus in Serie A.

Antonio Conte’s side face the Bianconeri tonight in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final at San Siro.

Although Inter beat Juventus comfortably when they met in Serie A two weeks ago, Vieri does not believe Inter have bridged the gap to the Old Lady just yet.

“Inter are a fantastic team, with new players like Arturo Vidal and Achraf Hakimi,” Vieri remarked in an interview with Perform Stats News, as quoted by Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

“However, I believe that Juventus on paper are still the strongest team in Italy.

“We will see what happens.”

Tonight’s Derby d’Italia kicks off at 20:45 local time, with the second leg scheduled for the same time at the Allianz Stadium next Tuesday.

The pair will then meet for a fourth time this season on the penultimate weekend of the league season, at which point Inter and Juventus could be competing to win the Scudetto.

Conte’s side are five points clear of his former club after 20 games, although Juve have a game in hand which will be at home to Napoli.
