Inter have decided not to fine Arturo Vidal for his conduct after he was substituted in Tuesday’s Coppa Italia defeat against Juventus, a report in the Italian media confirmed today.
Vidal was clearly angry after being taken off by Antonio Conte in the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg, with pitch-side microphones catching the midfielder shouting: ‘It’s always number 22 [him] who is taken off.’
As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, however, Inter will take no further action for the incident in the 73rd minute at San Siro.
Conte in fact plans to start Vidal again for tomorrow’s Serie A match at Fiorentina, given that the 32-year-old will be unavailable for Tuesday’s second leg against Juventus due to suspension.
Vidal has made 25 appearances across all competitions for Inter this season, in which he has scored two goals and provided two assists.
He will be hoping to find the net against Cesare Prandelli’s side for a second time in 2021, having already scored at the Stadio Artemio Franchi during Inter’s Coppa Italia last 16 victory on January 13.
