Negotiations between Inter’s current owners Suning and prospective buyers BC Partners are still ongoing, according to an Italian media report today.
As per Corriere dello Sport’s print edition, BC Partners are the only interested party to have reached a certain stage in negotiations with Suning and they are therefore the one with the best chance of purchasing a majority stake in the club.
The British-based private equity fund were one of the first parties linked with potential investment into Inter and even had an exclusivity period to negotiate with Suning, although the exclusivity period expired at the end of January.
BC Partners are widely reported to have made Suning an offer for Inter already, but the offer is understood to fall some way short of Suning’s rumoured €1 billion asking price for Inter.
Other parties linked with potential investment in Inter include EQT, Ares Management, Arctos Sports Partners, Fortress and Mubadala.
