Inter’s failure to make it into the Coppa Italia final is seemingly of little surprise to Italian football journalist and Nerazzurri fan Fabrizio Biasin.
Antonio Conte’s side crashed out of the cup at the semi-final stage following a 2-1 aggregate loss to arch-rivals Juventus last night.
Inter lost the first leg 2-1 and had to score at least twice in Turin to stand any chance of making the final, but they failed to do so as the sides played out a turgid goalless draw at the Allianz Stadium.
In Biasin’s eyes, Conte and his players can have no complaints about the result.
Biasin took to social media platform Twitter to express his views following Inter’s elimination at the semi-final stage for the second consecutive year.
“Inter had few chances in the first 45 minutes but there were no real saves for Gigi Buffon,” he said.
“They really did too little to go to the final, especially seeing as they had to recover and in the second half, they played worse than they did in the first half.”
With Inter now out of the Coppa Italia as well as the UEFA Champions League, the only competition they will compete in between now and the end of the season is Serie A.
Qualche occasione nei primi 45′, nessuna vera parata di #Buffon.
Davvero troppo poco per andare in finale, soprattutto se devi recuperare e nel secondo tempo… giochi peggio che nel primo. #JuveInter
