Inter coach Antonio Conte could rest two key starters in Sunday’s match at home to Lazio due to them being at risk of suspension, according to an Italian newspaper report today.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s online edition, Alessandro Bastoni could be rested and replaced by Aleksandar Kolarov at San Siro, with the Italian centre-back one booking away from a suspension ahead of next weekend’s Milan derby.
For the same reason, Conte may rest one of Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella in midfield, with both also one yellow card away from a one-game ban.
Inter take on city rivals and current league leaders AC Milan on February 21 in what could be a title decider, so he might want to make sure he has his best team available for the derby.
The Nerazzurri’s match against Lazio is scheduled for a 20:45 local time kick-off on Sunday and it will be the second time the sides meet this season, after their 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico in October.
