Inter are convinced the insults coach Antonio Conte was subjected to in Tuesday’s draw at Juventus were premeditated, according to an Italian newspaper report today.

As per Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition, the insults were not a result of adrenaline flowing or after anything in particular happening as the insults started from the very first minute of the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg in Turin.

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, according to sources at Inter, insulted Conte at least three times with a variation of jibes, including ‘clown’.

Conte hit back at the insults by showing his middle finger to Agnelli, after which the insults from Agnelli towards Conte continued into the tunnel after full-time and outside the dressing rooms.

Inter also allege that Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici threatened to hit Nerazzurri team manager Lele Oriali, claims Juventus have already denied.

The report from the Milan-based publication goes on to explain that Conte felt betrayed by those he worked with and under at Juventus.

A report elsewhere today claimed the Italian Football Federation had opened an investigation into Tuesday’s incidents, meaning Conte and Agnelli could be punished for their actions.
