Antonio Conte has a team all coaches would love to manage at Inter, at least according to the Nerazzurri’s former forward David Suazo.
Inter regained top spot in Serie A last night with a 3-1 win over Lazio and now have a one-point gap over city rivals AC Milan.
Conte’s side can open up a four-point gap over their cousins with victory in Sunday’s Milan derby and Suazo was singing the former Italy boss’s praises today.
“One of his qualities is being fiery, he has temperament and at times he exasperates situations because he cares too much about what he does,” Suazo remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
“Every now and then he makes comments that seem strong.
“It happened even after the exit from the Champions League, he was very self-critical.
“He creates expectation, but now he has everything to succeed.
“He is in charge of a fantastic team and the enthusiasm of the Nerazzurri fans.
“All coaches would like to have a team like Inter.
“Despite the unexpected issues, there is still a project, they know how much work there is to be done.”
The former Honduran international then went on to share his belief that Inter could be advantaged by not being in European competition during the next few weeks.
“It is lucky that Inter have no other commitments besides playing in the league,” Suazo argued.
“The team can focus on the league and go into every single match very well.
“It is not something to be underestimated, on the contrary, you can manage things carefully now in training with a view to the game on Sunday.
Former Cagliari forward Suazo then commented on the current off-field issues at Inter, who are suffering from a lack of liquidity due to a number of different reasons.
“It is a delicate moment and there is uncertainty but the results on the pitch gives the club hope.
“Could it impact the players? Maybe, but when a player is top of the league they find the way to focus on themselves.
“Conte has built a wall between the dressing room and the outside world.”
