Inter president Steven Zhang is looking for a bridge loan worth at least €150 million, as he does not want to leave the club until winning this season’s Scudetto, Italian media report.

This according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera, detailing how the bridge loan is necessary to complete the season, due to the current liquidity problems at the club.

A fund had offered a loan to the Nerazzurri, but asked for shares in the Chinese company to be pledged, which was rejected.

Jindong Zhang’s strategy is in line with that of the Chinese government, stopping non-essential investments, giving priority to the domestic market and stopping excessive spending on football.

Bc Partners’ €750 million is still on the table, the report continues, but currently the Chinese company’s biggest problem is time.

Club president Steven Zhang wants to at least win this season’s league title before leaving the club, but time may not work in his favour.
