Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo discussed Inter coach Antonio Conte and Nerazzurri defender Milan Skriniar in an interview on social media app Clubhouse earlier today.
During this chat, as reported via FcInterNews earlier today Zaniolo stated that he would be open to playing in a 3-5-2 for coach Antonio Conte.
“Maybe for a coach like him I would play in a 3-5-2. I think I would, but it wouldn’t suit me considering the way I play and how I like to move around the pitch.”
The 21-year-old Italian then went on to praise Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar, who has been incredibly strong under the Italian coach this season in Milan.
“We’re talking about a very strong player, with great speed and timing in his defensive decisions.”
Zaniolo spent a year with the Inter Primavera squad from July 2017 to July 2018, before joining the Giallorossi in a deal that saw Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan go the other way.
The 21-year-old Italian forward has not made a single appearance this campaign, still recovering from a cruciate ligament rupture.
The 26-year-old Skriniar, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has made 25 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2120 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and helped the side keep eight clean sheets.
The Slovakian defender was linked with a move away from Milan in last summer’s transfer window, but has since established himself in coach Antonio Conte’s system.
