Inter are owed up to €55.7 million in late sponsorship payments from Asia, according to a report in the Italian media.
The Nerazzurri announced welcome news in a statement from their media company earlier, revealing the club’s commercial revenue increased by 25.7% in 2020.
Calcio e Finanza have pointed out, however, that while the Nerazzurri’s commercial revenue has increased, including an increase of 36% in sponsorship money, they are having trouble collecting the money they are due from Asia.
Inter are missing €12.8 million in sponsorship from the 2018-19 season, €25.9 million from 2019-20 and a further €16.8 million from the current campaign.
Since Suning took charge of the club in the summer of 2016, a number of Asian-based sponsors have come in at the club.
While the Asian sponsorship money has helped, Inter would definitely have been helped further had they received the ‘missing’ amount.
Earlier today, Inter nevertheless confirmed in another statement that Suning were committed to guaranteeing the club’s economic stability, even if they are unable to secure new financial partners.
