Inter’s owners Suning could delay the sale of the club until the end of this season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As per Tuttosport’s print edition, Nerazzurri president Steven Zhang wants the team to win the Scudetto as a parting gift before the Chinese company bid farewell to Inter, who they have owned since the summer of 2016.

Suning are going through a very difficult time, as evidenced by the fact they are selling 20-25% of Suning.com, which will mean they no longer hold the majority of the company’s shares.

The Turin-based paper warned Zhang would find it difficult to secure any solution which allowed Suning to remain as Inter’s owners, with BC Partners returning as a candidate to buy the club.

The British-based private equity fund have tabled an offer of €800 million plus bonuses to buy Inter from Suning, and this report claims that it will not be easy for Suning to find someone willing to pay more than that.

BC Partners’ bonuses would be related to Antonio Conte’s side achieving various results, albeit TS did not specify further.
