Inter have made an enquiry with Shkodran Mustafi’s entourage over a potential move to the club this summer, according to a Spanish media report.
As per TodoFichajes.com, the Nerazzurri have reached out to the Schalke defender’s agents to understand whether the centre-back is willing to join them for next season.
Mustafi joined the Bundesliga strugglers in February on a six-month deal and is currently undecided about whether or not he will carry on with them.
Offers certainly will not be lacking for the former Arsenal defender, with the report stating that the chance to play for Inter would be considered very attractive.
Mustafi has made three appearances since joining Schalke on deadline day last month, with the Royal Blues all but certain to suffer relegation to Germany’s second tier.
Taking into account his time with Arsenal in the first part of the season, the 28-year-old has made 12 appearances during the current campaign, in which he has failed to make any goal contributions.
Mustafi already has experience playing in Serie A, having spent two seasons with Sampdoria between 2012 and 2014.
