Rodrigo de Paul is at the top of Inter coach Antonio Conte’s summer transfer wish list, according to an Italian media report today.
As per CalcioMercato.com, Conte has already told Beppe Marotta he wants the Udinese midfielder in his squad for next season.
De Paul is a player Conte has wanted for more than a year now and the Argentine could have arrived in the last transfer window, had Christian Eriksen gone on to leave the club.
But the report warned that it would not be easy for Inter to prize De Paul away from Udinese, a club he is very much attached to.
Udinese, who have had De Paul since 2016, are said to want between €35-40 million for the former Valencia player.
Inter will however be able to use the 26-year-old’s desire to play in the UEFA Champions League after several years with a provincial club as leverage in negotiations.
De Paul has contributed five goals and five assists to Luca Gotti’s side this season, making 25 appearances in all competitions.
