Inter’s outgoing shirt sponsors Pirelli have given the Nerazzurri close to €250 million during the last three decades, an Italian media report pointed out today.
Pirelli’s chief executive Marco Tronchetti Provera yesterday confirmed the company would cease to be Inter’s main shirt sponsor when their deal expires at the end of this season.
The Italian tyre company became the main shirt sponsors 26 years ago and as per Calcio e Finanza, they have given Inter close to a quarter of a billion euros in the time since.
Since 1995, the year in which the partnership began, Inter have received a grand total of €234 million from Pirelli, including €11.491 million last season.
The average amount Inter have received annually over the duration of the deal is €9.37 million.
Inter were paid just €2.1 million in the first year of the sponsorship whereas in the 2018-19 season they were paid €19.1 million, the highest single amount paid out during the sponsorship agreement.
Pirelli’s sponsorship of the Nerazzurri year on year has had an average impact on the turnover of 4.3% each season.
