Inter must have two key qualities if they are to beat Parma tonight, according to Matteo Darmian.
Antonio Conte’s side have a golden opportunity to go six points clear of AC Milan with victory at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
Darmian returns to the bench tonight for the match against his former club, with Achraf Hakimi coming back from suspension.
“It will be a difficult match, we must be concentrated from the start,” Darmian told Inter TV.
“They will take to the field and will give everything, we must have more hunger and desire to take the three points home.
“We have tried to prepare for this match in the best possible way, we know their strengths.
“Parma are not going through a positive moment but they have players who can hurt us on the counterattack, we have to be careful.”
Darmian played his first three games of this season at Parma before joining Inter at the end of the transfer window.
The former Manchester United full-back was adamant there would be no room for pleasantries tonight, though.
“Last year at Parma was important for me,” Darmian added.
“I have good memories, but when the referee blows the whistle I’ll be focused on Inter.”
In a follow-up interview with Sky Sport Italia, he said: “What we need to do is focus on ourselves.
“We know it’s a difficult match, we have to do what we have done so far and bring home the three points.
“Pressure? There will be challenges from here until the end, but we are ready to face them.
“Last year at Parma was important for me, I have many friends here and for me it will be special but when the referee blows the whistle I will be focused on Inter.
“After that there will be a way to say hello to everyone.”
Alexis Sanchez has also come into the team tonight in place of Lautaro Martinez and he will partner Romelu Lukaku in the Nerazzurri attack.
Aside from Sanchez and Hakimi, Conte has named an unchanged XI from the one which began Sunday’s 3-0 win over Genoa at San Siro.
