Antonio Conte has transformed midfielder Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic into more disciplined players at Inter, an Italian media report has highlighted today.

Gazzetta dello Sport have pointed out that Barella and Brozovic were previously players who all too often picked up yellow cards given their playing styles, their positions on the field and their tasks in midfield.

Conte has ensured they are more disciplined now though, with both having been playing on the brink of suspension for weeks.

Barella has gone seven league games without picking up the booking that would have cost him a one-match ban, while Brozovic has amazingly played 10.

Gazzetta argued that whereas Barella could have easily picked up four bookings in the space of a month once upon a time, he has now just had four bookings all season.

He was booked twice in Inter’s opening three Serie A games but then avoided a yellow card between matchday 4 and matchday 15, before being cautioned against Sampdoria and Juventus in January.

Brozovic’s clean streak is even more impressive given that the Croatian is one of the players who covers the most ground in Serie A.
