Milan Skriniar has sounded a rallying cry to his Inter teammates by reminding them they have their fate in their own hands for the Serie A title.

Inter got past relegation-threatened Parma 2-1 on Thursday evening at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, with Chilean international Alexis Sanchez grabbing both of the goals for Antonio Conte’s side.

Thanks to this result, Inter are now sitting six points clear of their nearest Serie A title rivals, AC Milan, who currently occupy second spot.

“We are working not just as a back three but rather a whole defensive department, and the wing-backs give us a hand,” Skriniar told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, following the game.

“From this we can see that we are a united group, we attack and defend together.”

Skriniar touched upon the match and admitted that the second goal calmed the team down.

“It was a very difficult match, Parma have always created problems for us in the last year.

“It was important to face the match in the right way, when we scored the second goal we were more relaxed.”

The Slovakian international was then asked about the pressure on the team now they have the advantage they do and if he feels the team are on track to win the Scudetto.

“It all depends on us, now we have to face all the matches well, starting with the one on Monday (against Atalanta).

“On the right track? Yes, we are working well.

“Now it depends on us, there are 13 games left and we must continue on this path.”

Skriniar also admitted that the team could have done better at the goal they conceded.

“Certainly, even on the pitch I felt that we could have slowed things down.

“Perhaps Ivan Perisic could have called Alessandro Bastoni over, but it is hard to say, the important thing is the three points.”

Inter are in an incredibly strong position to secure their first Serie A title in 11 years.
