Serie A’s Best Attacks Square Off As Inter Face Atalanta, Italian Media Report

The two most prolific teams in Serie A will face off against each other at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza tomorrow, as Inter welcome Atalanta.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the hosts have scored the most goals in the league this season with 62, whilst Atalanta trail that tally by just two.

Inter’s dominance up front is led by Belgium international Romelu Lukaku and Argentine Lautaro Martinez, although coach Antonio Conte has been able to rely on Alexis Sanchez recently, with the former Manchester United forward netting a brace in a 2-1 win over Parma on Thursday.

For Atalanta, the devastating form of Luis Muriel is supported by a return to fitness of fellow Colombian striker Duvan Zapata, in additional to attacking midfielder Matteo Pessina.

La Dea have taken more shots at goal than Inter this season, with 411 compared to 382, but the latter have seen more on target, at 151 to 149.

Meanwhile, Lukaku enjoys a stronger shot conversation rate than Zapata, at 25% compared to 17% and the Inter man’s eight assists are two more than the Colombian’s record. The Biscione striker also had a higher touch rate per game in the opposition box, at 6.5 to 5.8, and more successful dribbles, at 2.9 to 2.3.
