Former Inter striker Christian Vieri has admitted to being unsure as to why Christian Eriksen did not start from the beginning for Inter in last night’s match with Atalanta.
Eriksen was dropped to the bench for the match against the Bergamo club despite his recent good form and was replaced by Arturo Vidal, who left a lot to be desired with his performance on his return to the starting XI.
Danish national team representative Eriksen did eventually get on the pitch but following the match Vieri questioned why the former Tottenham Hotspur player did not start.
“I don’t understand why Eriksen didn’t play from the start, I see him as being in amazing form,” Vieri, who spent six years with Inter, remarked during a broadcast on his official Twitch channel, Bobo TV, post-match.
“He has been playing in a certain way for two months, I would have continued like this. ”
The former Italian international also discussed the three points picked up by Inter thanks to their 1-0 win which came courtesy of a second half goal from central defender Milan Skriniar.
“These are three fundamental points for Inter in the standings, but Atalanta were the ones who controlled the game,” Vieri argued.
Inter are now six points clear of second-placed AC Milan and 10 points clear of third-placed Juventus with 12 games to go.
Lele Adani also felt Eriksen should have started last night, as he explained post-game.
