Inter are likely to receive an offer from Monza to make Lorenzo Pirola’s loan move permanent, according to a report in the Italian media.

Pirola has moved up the pecking order in Cristian Brocchi’s defence in recent weeks, starting each of Monza’s last three games in Serie B.

FcInterNews.it report Monza’s president Silvio Berlusconi and chief executive Adriano Galliani are ready to make a serious offer to sign the centre-back outright, worth around €10-12 million.

The 19-year-old also has interest from several clubs in Serie A who attempted to beat Monza to his signature last summer.

Inter could be tempted to cash in on their former Primavera defender, the report continued, with COVID-19 and Suning’s financial difficulties having left a big dent in their accounts.

Pirola’s departure would help the Nerazzurri raise funds for their transfer campaign this summer.

Berlusconi sees Pirola as the prototype of his ideal defender as he is young, Italian, talented and clean-faced.

Pirola made his first-team debut for Inter at end of last season, with Antonio Conte giving him a substitute appearance during a 4-0 win at SPAL.

He also made his debut for Italy’s under-21s last October.
