Alexis Sanchez has proven himself to be an ideal super sub for Inter this season, according to an Italian media report.
The Chilean international provided the assist for the Nerazzurri’s winning goal at Torino yesterday, crossing for Lautaro Martinez to head in.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport‘s online edition, despite Sanchez being limited to few minutes, he still finds a way to be decisive and this has especially been the case as of late.
In his last four appearances, Sanchez has scored three goals and provided a single assist, numbers that a team would be happy with from a certain starter, not a perceived back-up player.
Sanchez could have left for Roma in January but has stayed and been important for Antonio Conte’s side alongside the seemingly immovable duo of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez up front.
Having a player like Sanchez in the squad is a real luxury for Inter and a luxury that not all clubs are fortunate enough to have, the report argued.
The report goes on to point out that Sanchez is a real winner having won 16 trophies during his career, and that he could add another to his honours list this season.
Inter are looking likely to win a first Serie A title since 2010 now, having pulled nine points clear of AC Milan with yesterday’s victory at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
