Inter took to Twitter on Monday to celebrate the 16-year anniversary of Adriano’s UEFA Champions League hat-trick against FC Porto.

Roberto Mancini’s side secured a 3-1 win in the second leg of their last 16 tie in 2005, earning the Nerazzurri a 4-2 victory on aggregate.

FC Porto had won the tournament the previous season under Jose Mourinho but their title defence came crashing to a halt as L’Imperatore ran riot at San Siro.

Adriano played 177 games across all competitions for Inter, in which he scored a total of 74 goals and provided 27 assists.
