Inter have cancelled Antonio Conte’s pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Sassuolo, according to a report in the Italian media.
Corriere dello Sport’s print edition reported the news while informing readers of the steps Inter are taking following Danilo D’Ambrosio’s positive COVID-19 test yesterday.
The Nerazzurri have activated Serie A’s health protocol in a bid to further limit the spread of the virus, with players able to travel to and from Appiano Gentile as per the rules on fiduciary isolation.
Conte was due to speak to the media as usual on Friday ahead of Inter’s match at San Siro, but this will now not take place.
Elsewhere today, La Repubblica’s Franco Vanni reported there were no further positive cases within Inter’s first team after a fresh round of testing.
There will obviously be another round of tests before Saturday’s match at home to Sassuolo, though.
A report in Gazzetta dello Sport this morning said Milan’s local health authority could prevent Inter’s players from joining up with their national teams next week, following D’Ambrosio’s positive test.
At the moment though, it remains more likely that players will be permitted to go on international duty as long as they organise private travel.
Club directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio reportedly remain positive for COVID-19 after getting the virus three weeks ago, while Dario Baccin, Alessandro Antonello and Angelo Capellini have all returned to being negative.
