The decision to postpone Inter’s Serie A match against Sassuolo this evening has left coach Antonio Conte unimpressed, whilst also annoying the Neroverdi.

The league leaders were due to welcome Sassuolo to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this evening, but an outbreak of COVID-19 in the squad led to the game being called off.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Tuttosport, Conte was unhappy to have been forced to delay the match after seeing his side come into it in sparkling form, with eight consecutive wins seeing them open up a nine-point gap at the top.

Conte had also hoped to take advantage of Sassuolo’s demoralising defeat to Torino on Tuesday after they had squandered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2, with his own team enjoying the luxury of a greater rest period.

Sassuolo, meanwhile, are also thought to have been against the decision to postpone the match and are dissatisfied with the decision being based on only four cases, compared to the 10 stipulated by league protocols.
