After seeing today’s Serie A match against Sassuolo postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak, Inter are likely to encounter a congested fixture list in April.

The Nerazzurri have reported four positive cases amongst the playing squad over the past week, leading to tonight’s clash at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza called off.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, with the match against Sassuolo set to be rescheduled for early April, Antonio Conte’s side could face a fixture pile-up next month.

Inter are expected to take on Sassuolo on Wednesday 7 April, just days after taking on Bologna, whilst they will face two midweek matches across the month, as they must prepare for a shorter turnaround of matches than initially expected.

Conte, meanwhile, has sought to keep his affected players prepared whilst they are isolated for the remainder of March, with training regimes, equipment and nutritional guides provided to players whilst they are kept away from the training ground.
